New Years Day 2012 will see hundreds of thousands of home owners in Ireland becoming liable for the new Household Charge .

Property Owners will have to register for the charge – this can be done online or by filling in a paper form (available for collection from local Council offices)
Once registered – liable persons can pay online with a debit or credit card or by post (by cheque, postal order) to Household Charge, PO Box 12168, Dublin 1) .
Payment will also be accepted in County/City Council offices .
Payments must be made before 31 March 2012 – but if you opt for quarterly installments you will need to set up a Direct Debit Manadate by 29th February 2012.
