For those people in Ireland using the Revenue Online Service to file tax returns in 2010 – the deadline is fast approaching. The due date is November 16th 2010.
If you missed the paper return deadline of 31st October – you may still have time to do the online returns. You need to register with the ROS beforehand – but this process can take about 8 days – so you will probably miss the deadline by a few days. If you are already registered with ROS – you should start doing something now.
Late filing of your tax return may result in a surcharge . For example if you file within 2 months after the due date then you may be liable for a charge of 5% on the tax owed up to a maximum of €12,695 and that rises to 10% after 2 months.
