As we reported back in February – Postbank is closing down.
Postbank Ireland Ltd will cease trading on 31 December 2010.
Postbank was set up as a joint venture between An Post and Belgian bank Fortis in early 2007. (In May 2009 French bank BNP Paribas took control of Fortis.)
Postbank services are no longer available in post offices and all Postbank accounts have been closed.
Any remaining balances will be transferred to An Post and these balances will be administered by One Direct Ireland Ltd.
