Extension to Date: April 2nd is the (latest) deadline for the Property Tax
In October 2014 – Revenue wrote to about 1 million people asking them to confirm their method of payment for the 2014 Property Tax. The deadline for responding online was originally 27th November – then Revenue extended that date to 5pm on Nov 29th . See more here about the 2014 LPT
The 2013 deadline was originally May 29th – but that was eventually extended a couple of times and eventually ended up at July 1st . See Here.
Up to now – Revenue have not charged anyone interest on late payments – nor have they ( as far as we know ) applied any penalty charges. Revenue announced back in February 2014 that anyone who has still not filed an LPT return for 2013 or who has not confirmed their payment method for 2014 – still had until 31st March 2014 to do so. (Now extended to 2nd April)
After that date they say that interest will be applied to late payments. The interest will be 8% per annum and will be backdated to July 2013 for unpaid Property Tax for 2013 and any Household Charge arrears. Other penalties may also apply – see LPT Penalty Charges .

Revenue have an LPT helpline (1890 200 255) but you might be in for a long wait on that helpline – and it could be costing you as much as 35c a minute (See 1890 call costs here).
If you have a telephone plan with “inclusive” minutes to landlines you should try ringing the alternative number for LPT which is 01 7023049. This is a “normal” landline number which will be included in any free minutes you have in your phone plan and will not incur any extra charges.
