Property Tax Rates 2019
Under Property Tax regulations – local Councils can adjust the annual property tax rates , up or down each year, by as much as 15% from the base rate. All the decisions for 2019 LPT had to be made by September 30th 2018 – and these are the results of all the local authorities decisions on the Property Tax Rates for 2019 .
The majority of councils did not change their rates from 2018 – apart from these three :
- Tipperary – reduced by 10%
- Kerry – reduced by 5%
- Longford – raised by 10%

The following councils will be charging the standard rate of LPT in 2019 :
Carlow, Cavan, Clare, Cork County, Cork City, Donegal, Galway County,
Galway City, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Leitrim,
Louth, Mayo , Meath , Monaghan, Offaly, Roscommon, Sligo,
Tipperary, Westmeath, Wicklow .
The following Councils will be charging more than the standard LPT rate in 2019
Laois – 10% more
Limerick City & County : 7.5% more
Longford 15% more ( This is a 10% increase from 2018)
Waterford 2.5% more
Wexford 10% more
The following local authorities will charge 15% less than the standard LPT again in 2019
Dublin City Council
Dun Laoghaire + Rathdown Council
South Dublin County Council
Other Reduced Rates
A 10% cut to LPT will be made by Fingal County Council (The same as 2018)
