Warning about Fake Tax Refund Emails

People are being warned that there are emails being sent – supposedly from  from Revenue .  These emails usually have the subject line  “Tax return for year 2013” or “Notice of Tax Return”.  The emails request personal details in relation to a possible tax refund  – but they have not been sent by Revenue and should be deleted immediately.
Revenue have advised us that they do not send unsolicited text messages or emails requesting personal details. If you have responded to such messages with details of your bank account or card – the advice from Revenue is to contact your bank and/or Credit Card Company.
